My lover and partner of 15 years lay in a bed at Hospice Atlanta, no longer able to eat or drink, her body ravaged by cancer.

Yet as friends gathered around her skeletal body, many said “Anne, you look so beautiful.” She was truly radiant. How can that be?

Everyone said, “I feel so gifted to be with you now.” How can that be?

Her final words, whispered with a sweet smile around the tube down her throat, were “It is perfect.” How can that be?

Let us explore. We will find in her story the components of integral death.

And, hopefully, you will share your thoughts and experiences.
